Blogmas: The Christmas Traditions Tag (23)

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Welcome to Day 23 of Blogmas! ONLY 2 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! If you want to see a running list of my Blogmas posts, you can check them out here. (:

Thanks to Danielle @ Underland to Wonderland for tagging me! Yes I know this is my 2nd Christmas tag, but it's a different tag, and with Christmas being so close I thought it was fitting. (; To see my first Christmas tag, click here!

1) When does Christmas start for you?
Well, the excitement starts right after Thanksgiving, but the opening of the presents and such starts right at 12 AM Christmas morning. (;

2) What is one Christmas movie you must watch?
Home Alone! It's our absolute favorite movie and we watch it every year.

3) Do you bake a Christmas cake or buy one?
Bake! Our mom doesn't eat egg so we make eggless cake right at home. Tastes pretty much the same as store bought, just a little less fluffier and a lot less icing.

4) When do you put up your Christmas tree?
Usually the first week of December. (:

5) Do you have a real or fake Christmas tree?
Fake. I don't know if I could handle a real Christmas tree and all the work that comes with it. o; Maybe one day I'll get a real tree just cuz, but for now I'm content with a fake one.

6) When do you start playing Christmas music?
First week of December, usually around the same time we put up our tree. It's just weird for us to not listen to Christmas music when putting up the tree because we're always listening to music every other minute of the day. So, basically when we put up the tree we just change the genre to Christmas music.

7) Do you use the same Christmas decorations each year or buy new ones?
Haha, use the same ones...although, we do need to go get new ones since we've had the ones we're using right now since before I was born (over 19 years)!

8) How do you spend Christmas Eve?
Usually just watching Christmas movies and baking. This year, since our family is actually staying in Indy, we're going to invite them over for a nice dinner. (:

I couldn't find our old picture of Santa so I decided to share this awesome display at the Children's Museum. (-:

9) Advent calendar or no advent calendar?
No advent calendar, but only because I have no idea where to get one. o; I hadn't even heard of advent calendars until last year!

10) Do you leave a snack out for Santa and his reindeer?
Of course! Milk and cookies...sometimes Oreos if we're feeling extra giving. (;

11) How does Santa get into your house?
We put down our invisible barriers during Christmas Eve and Christmas so he can magically transport into our home since we have glass in front of our fake fireplace. (-;

12) Mince pies, yay or nay?
Nay. Grew up in a vegetarian household so I've never even tried mince pies!

13) Snowballs, eggnog, or mulled wine?
None of the above. Haven't tried any! Haha.

14) What scents remind you of Christmas?
Peppermint, cinnamon, vanilla, sweets....MMMM

15) How do you spend Christmas Day?
Well, since we open our presents at midnight we end up sleeping in, in the morning. Then when we decide to wake up we just watch Christmas movies all day and eat leftovers. (:
