Monthly Favorites: May 2014.

Monday, June 02, 2014

I've seen a lot of people do their monthly favorites on Youtube and other blogs, but they usually talk about their favorite makeup or clothes, and since I don't wear makeup, or have the greatest sense of fashion, I decided to do some generic monthly favorites. To see my March favorites you can click here. Enjoy! (:

Stay High (Habits Remix) - Tove Lo ft. Hippie                                                   Sabotage

I don't remember exactly when I heard this song for the first time, but ever since I did I couldn't stop. I don't know what it is about it, but I love it!

It's actually a really sad song, and even though I can't say I've been through  what she's singing about, I feel like I get what she's saying.

I don't know, it's hard to put into words, but it's definitely worth a listen. The lyrics are good, the beat is good, and she's a pretty good singer. (:

Neighbors came out in May 2014 and was hilarious!

I had really high expectations when I went to watch it, so I wasn't extremely impressed, but I still think it was a funny movie. But come on, you can't really go wrong with Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Dave Franco...(;

Basically the movie is about a young couple who move into a new house with their baby and are trying to get accustomed to being new parents. They soon find out that they have new neighbors moving in next door, and at first they are excited, but to their dismay it happens to be a fraternity. Watch to see the battle of family vs. frat and see who comes up on top!

Or you can just go watch it because of Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Dave Franco...no judgement. ;D

DISCLAIMER: This movie is rated R so if you're under the age of 17...wait a couple years.

Summer is finally here! :D Now, summer is a bit tricky for me because of the Indian culture and my parents. They don't want me showing off too much skin so shorts, tanks, and skirts are out of the question.

So I have to find clothes that cover most of my skin but don't make me all hot and sweaty in the humid, hot Midwest summers. THANK GOODNESS for whoever invented harem pants and maxi skirts.

I haven't bought any maxi skirts just yet because I'm not really sure if I can pull them off...but I finally got my hands on some harem pants! At first I was a bit iffy about whether or not I liked them but once I put them on it was made crystal clear...they were keepers!

Harem pants are thin, light, comfortable and what  I love the most is that you can wear them on a casual outing or dress them up for a night out. They look nice but feel like you're wearing sweatpants...perfect! :D

I mostly wear mine with a regular plain colored tee tucked in with some sandals or flats. I haven't gotten too adventurous yet but then again I've only had them for a couple weeks. (;

Do YOU have harem pants? If so, how do you style them? Let me know in the comments below! (:

I honestly haven't been on YouTube lately so I can't really tell you who has been my favorite this month. o; The only YouTubers I've really tried to keep up with are the British YouTubers: Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Thatcher Joe, Caspar Lee, Tanya Burr, etc..

Dana @ Wonder Forest is absolutely amazing!

I still have a lot of blog posts to catch up on, but I always take a look at Dana's blog if I get the chance. But why should you? Well...

1) She has a posting schedule and she sticks to it so you know there'll be a blog post waiting to be read.

2) She has a wide variety of posts including personal "life" posts, outfits, advice (about life and blogging), horoscopes, and the list goes on.

3) She makes Blogger and Wordpress templates through another website called Envye.

4) She has ANOTHER website just for blog advice called icanbuildablog.com.

5) You won't get bored. Dana always has something fresh and unique to post about.

I especially like her blog so much because of how much it helped me. I learned how to make my own blog design from her and I learned a lot about myself because of her "life" posts. I don't know, she just comes off as a really creative, helpful person whose main purpose with her blog is to simply blog. (: Make sure you check out her blog at thewonderforest.com!

And there it is, another month. Summer has arrived and boy am I excited! What are some of YOUR May favorites? Let me know in the comments below!
