"Let it grow."

As you all may know, October was breast cancer awareness month. Well November is known as "No Shave November." But why? It's actually quite simple: it's a unique way to raise cancer awareness. The goal is to grow awareness by keeping our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and with all the money you save from not having to shave, you can donate it!

"No-Shave November is a web-based organization devoted to raising cancer awareness and supportive funds by putting a fun twist on the month of November."

The campaign started in November 2009 on Facebook with less than 50 participants. Today, there are thousands of people across the world that are raising awareness and putting down their razors for the month. So what can you do? Well if you want you can not shave for a month, but I'm guessing most of you who are reading this are females, and it's totally fine if you want to participate in No Shave November (no judgement!), but if you don't you can still help by donating or even buying something from the shop!

These are some of the things you can buy from http://www.no-shavenovember.com They also had another t-shirt and bracelets but they sold out. The 'Let it Grow' T-Shirt is selling for $18.00 but you only have until Tuesday November 12 to put in your orders! The 17 oz. S'Well Mustache Bottle is a bit pricier, selling for $35.00, but remember if buy either of these products, all proceeds go to The American Cancer Society. You can also like their Facebook page here, or follow them on Twitter here.

I was surprised by how many people didn't know the reason behind No Shave November, especially the guys that were participating in it! Nevertheless, I think this is such a creative idea to raise awareness and I hope that more people will now know why 'No Shave November' was created and will join the fight against cancer.
