"The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings." - Henry Ward Beecher

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to children in the U.S. and Canada, under the age of 21, that don't have a lot of money and are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They use donated hair to create the highest quality of hair prosthetics.
"Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need."

I've been interested in donating hair to Locks of Love for a while now but I never really did any research on it. My hair is almost four feet long so I don't think 10 inches will kill me! I think this is a great way for kids to feel better in their own skin and boost their self-esteem. Be thankful that you have hair and keep doing what you do!
