New music I'm currently listening to.

1. 18 Months - Calvin Harris (2012)
Genre: Pop/Electro-dance

Calvin Harris' most recent album, 18 Months (2012), is amazing in my opinion! If you like dance music and/or dubstep, you'd probably love his album too. Basically all of the songs have a really awesome beat that I use as a pick-me-up.

Most of the songs on the album don't have words but the ones that do I love. The most popular songs off the album that you may have heard are probably We Found Love and Sweet Nothing. The album features various artists like Rihanna, Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, Ne-yo, and various other artists.

2. Night Visions - Imagine Dragons (2012)
Genre: Alternative

Ever since I heard It's Time by Imagine Dragons I've been hooked. Their whole entire album is so amazing. It's different than the normal poppy music I'm used to listening to, it's a nice change.

The album has a variety of different songs from happy pick-me ups to sad songs that you can reflect on life with. My favorites off the album have to be My Fault and Bleeding Out although it's very difficult choosing my favorites! This album is definitely worth a listen!

3. The Heist - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (2012)
Genre: Hip-Hop

"I'm gonna pop some tags, only got $20 in my pocket..."

These lyrics are probably familiar to anyone in the world who owns a radio. I was really intrigued by how catchy Thrift Shop was, so naturally I went and checked out the rest of Macklemore's album.

I usually don't listen to much hip-hop and rap but I was happily surprised by how good his album was. When I listen to The Heist I'm definitely listening to the lyrics. Some songs are funny but a lot of them are serious and they really reveal quite a lot about Mackelmore and his life. If you usually don't listen to much of this kind of music I would definitely urge you to check it out!

4. Electra Heart - Marina and the Diamonds (2012)
Genre: Indie Rock

Marina and the Diamonds new album is one that I listen to when I'm just in a fun mood. I just recently discovered Electra Heart and haven't been able to stop listening to it.

The sound is very poppy and upbeat. There's a good mix of just for fun songs that have really stupid lyrics but just lift your mood and then there are other songs that have great lyrics and are relateable (at least for me).

Like Bubblegum Bitch doesn't have very deep lyrics but it's just fun to listen to. I actually got my blog title "A State of Dreaming" from their song The State of Dreaming which is one of my favorite songs off the album because I can relate to it so much. If you're looking for some new music to listen to I'd definitely recommend this album!

5. Born to Die - Lana Del Rey (2011)
Genre: Various (Indie Pop, Alternative, Rock)

I know this album is old but I just discovered it in November of 2012, which is a shame because I'm in love with this album.

Lana Del Rey's music is SO different from what I've heard that at first I didn't even like it but now I can't stop listening to it. It takes some getting used to but her songs are so good and her vocals are so interesting.

Again it's hard to choose favorites off this album but my top three would have to be This is What Makes Us Girls, Summertime Sadness, and National Anthem. I'm not really sure how to describe her sound, you're just going to have to give it a listen! (:

So that's all I have for you guys on this Saturday night. I would love if you guys had any reccomendations for me! There is boat loads of new music that I'm currently listening to but I'd rather not bore you all to death. (; So until next time, and keep doing what you do!
